Dr. Raffy Karamanoukian is a double board certified plastic surgeon practicing in Los Angeles. He has experience in the acute and long term management of skin cancers, including basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and melanoma.  

In many cases, patients present with pre-cancerous skin moles that need less invasive treatments in order to prevent progression to skin cancer.  Actinic keratosis, carcinoma in-situ, and precancerous dysplastic nevi are also treated at Kare Plastic Surgery.  

Dr. Karamanoukian has special expertise in the management of skin cancers of the body and face.  Skin cancers are common on sun-exposed areas, including the arms, back, chest, neck, face, ears, and scalp. Treatments are performed using a multidisciplinary approach that includes Dr. Karamanoukian and a board certified dermatopathologist who is able to examine and provide expertise in terms of the histologic microscopic diagnosis of skin cancers.  This allows Dr. Karamanoukian to make definitive decisions in select cases that demand a 'second-look' in order to make a diagnosis of skin cancer or pre-cancer.
