Septoplasty in Santa Monica, Los Angeles

Septoplasty FAQ Questions:

How is a septoplasty different than a rhinoplasty?  A septoplasty addresses the cartilaginous septum that divides the right and left nostrils.  The septum is important in breathing as well as the external appearance of the nose.  Patients who have a deviated or crooked septum may have difficulty breathing from their nose and may also have the appearance of a crooked nose.  A septoplasty can improve the look of the nose as well as the breathing ability.  A rhinoplasty is a cosmetic procedure that addresses the nasal bones and internal cartilage of the nose, including the nasal tip, to acheive an improvement in the appearance of the nose.  These two procedures can be combined.

Can you combine a septoplasty and a rhinoplasty?  Yes.  A septorhinoplasty can be performed to improve the breathing ability of the nose and improve the outward appearance of the nose at the same time.
